Gardner Management Company was established in September of 1980 for the purpose of developing and managing real estate throughout the State of Michigan. Since its inception, the company has grown steadily and is now recognized as one of the largest professional management firms in western Michigan.
Gardner Management is currently managing approximately 2,000 units of residential and condominium properties. It also is responsible for approximately 243,000 square feet of commercial retail/office space throughout southwestern Michigan.
Jeff A. Gardner – President, is a 1974 College of Business Dean’s list graduate of Western Michigan University. In 1981 he received the designation of Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management. Mr. Gardner holds a Michigan Real Estate Brokers license and Residential Builders license.
Mr. Gardner’s years of experience include the management of commercial, residential and light industrial property. He has managed FmHA, MSHDA and HUD developments throughout the State of Michigan.
Over the past 30 years, Mr. Gardner has been involved in the development and construction of numerous commercial and residential real estate projects. He also serves as a development consultant in the southwestern Michigan area.
Mr. Gardner was one of the founders of Keystone Community Bank in Kalamazoo and currently serves as its Vice-Chairman.
James H. Chodl – General Manager, is a 1975 graduate of Western Michigan University and holds a master’s degree from Indiana University. Before joining Gardner Management in 1980, Mr. Chodl was on the faculty at Western Michigan University. In 1984 Mr. Chodl received the designation of Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management. In addition, he holds a Michigan Real Estate Sales license.
Mr. Chodl’s experience ranges from on-site management to regional supervision. He is responsible for the daily operation of the main office as well as all project personnel. He is experienced in the management of conventionally financed multi-family housing, government subsidized programs, and condominium properties.
